Waltham, MA. (April 12, 2011) The Disease Management Purchasing Consortium (DMPC) announced today that Michael Forrester PhD has become the first individual in the nation to earn lifetime certification in Advanced Critical Outcomes Report Analysis (CORA) for his skill in analyzing care management outcomes reports. Dr. Forrester had previously been one of the first individuals to earn the two-year Advanced CORA credential, a prerequisite for earning lifetime certification.
"Disease management outcomes claims are frequently less than credible," observed Dr. Forrester. "The need for expertise in this area is paramount. This is especially true given the dramatic changes that are occurring in our delivery system. Particularly given these environmental changes, I am honored to be the first person to earned Advanced Lifetime CORA Certification."

CORA is the only widely recognized analytic certification in the care management field, and substantially increases one's credibility to prepare, present or review proposals or outcomes reports. The credentialiing organization, DMPC, was named "The leading authority in care management outcomes analysis" in the Health Industries Research Co.'s 9th Annual Report on the Disease Management and Wellness Industries.

According to Al Lewis, President of DMPC, “Keeping healthcare providers honest about the success they claim in care management programs is vital to an organization’s human capital and financial resources. Using best practices for evaluation of disease management and wellness data is imperative in providing decision makers with legitimate, valid information when making critical business decisions. The more people who get CORA-certified, the more likely carriers and vendors will present honest outcomes."
